The Tallest of The Megatall

Hiya! So in this post I'm going to tell you guys about one of the place I want to visit the most, The Burj Khalifa.

Basically it all started when I watched an episode of a Korean television show called Running Man, and all of you should totally watch it's really fun. In that episode the crew filmed in Dubai, and the first place they visited was the tallest building in the world The Burj Khalifa. My reaction seeing that was like 'wow it's so cool, how can a building be that tall, it's kind of scary at the same time'.

About Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa, known as the Burj Dubai before its inauguration, is a megatall skyscraper located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the tallest structure in the world standing at 829.8 m (2,722 ft).
Construction of the Burj Khalifa began in 2004, with the exterior completed 5 years later in 2009. The primary structure is reinforced concrete. The building was opened in 2010 as part of a new development called Downtown Dubai. It is designed to be the centrepiece of large-scale, mixed-use development. The decision to build the building is reportedly based on the government's decision to diversify from an oil-based economy, and for Dubai to gain international recognition. The building was named in honour of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Abu Dhabi and the UAE government lent Dubai money to pay its debts. The building broke numerous height records, including its designation as the tallest tower in the world.

Other than that The Burj Khalifa has the longest single running elevator, which is 140 floors. The elevators go 10 meters per second and are among the fastest in the world. It took us approximately only one minute to reach the observation deck on the 124th floor.
The Burj Khalifa is designed to resemble the Hymenocallis flower; the central core emerges at the top and culminates in a sculpted spire. The weight of the concrete is equivalent to 100,000 elephants. The total weight of aluminum used on Burj Khalifa is equivalent to that of five A380 aircraft.

One of the reason why I want to visit this place is that I always get fascinated seeing skyscrapers and construction, and Burj Khalifa is the tallest man-made structure in the world right now, maybe in the future there will be a building taller than that, piercing the sky. And I hope I can build something like that too hehe.
